Turboprop Aircraft Detailing

Teterboro · Morristown · Allentown · White Plains

Turboprops are their own class. King Airs, TBMs, Pilatus PC-12s, and Cessna Caravans get flown harder than most jets, spend more time on outdoor ramps, and carry appearance considerations that jets do not: propeller spinner polish, exhaust stack care, and de-ice boot systems that need regular refurbishment. JetSpa details every major turboprop in general aviation with the specific chemistry and technique the class requires.

What Is Turboprop Aircraft Detailing?

Turboprop detailing covers the full appearance care menu adapted to the specific needs of propeller-driven business aircraft. Compared to jets, turboprops face heavier exhaust residue on the belly and lower fuselage, more frequent brightwork oxidation on spinners and leading edges, and higher use rates on de-ice boot systems.

01
A scope call taken standing at the propeller hub of a turboprop

Scope call

We confirm aircraft type, spinner and boot configuration, and the services you want.

02

Written quote

You receive a written scope and timeline. Boot refurbishment and coating work require 24 to 48 hour ground time; we build that into scheduling.

03
Equipment unloaded from a cart in a hangar beside a twin turboprop

On-site arrival

Team arrives at your hangar with all products and equipment. Twin engine turboprops with additional surfaces (spinners, boots on horizontal stabilizer) require additional crew.

04

Sequential execution

Work proceeds in the order that respects cure times: exterior polish and coating first (with cure), then boots and brightwork, then interior. This maximizes efficient use of the ground time.

Walkthrough and documentation

Post-service walk with your pilot or ground crew plus written service record.

Why Turboprop Detailing Requires a Specialist

03Turboprop classesSingle engine through large twin
Spinner polish

Spinner polish

Propeller spinners are polished bare metal that oxidize continuously. Regular polish is a class-specific service that jet detailers rarely offer. On many turboprops, spinners are the most visible appearance element on the aircraft.

Exhaust stack polish

Exhaust stack polish

Turboprop exhaust stacks accumulate heat discoloration and soot that require specific compounds and technique to restore.

Boot refurbishment demand

Boot refurbishment demand

Turboprops rely heavily on rubber de-ice boot systems. Regular boot refurbishment is a class-specific service that many operators build into annual maintenance.

Ramp exposure

Ramp exposure

Turboprops spend more time on outdoor ramps than jets, which means more UV, more airborne fallout, and more frequent decontamination needs.

Value preservation

Value preservation

Turboprop values are highly sensitive to appearance and documented service history. A well-detailed King Air commands materially higher resale than a neglected one.

Turboprop Aircraft Detailing, answered

All FAQs →

Do you polish propeller spinners?

Yes. Spinner polish is a standard turboprop service and can be scoped for a single-engine or twin-engine aircraft. The service is quoted from the aircraft and spinner configuration.

How long does a King Air full detail take?

A King Air 200 or 350 with full exterior detail, boot refurbishment, and interior detail typically requires 3 to 5 days across the ground time needed for coating and boot cure. Timeline confirmed with your written quote.

Are your boot conditioners approved for King Air boots?

We use products approved by the boot manufacturer for the specific boots on your aircraft. King Air boot systems are supported. Approval is verified in the quote process.

Can turboprops be coated with ceramic?

Yes. Ceramic coating is available for turboprop painted surfaces just as for jets. Coating tier options are 1 year, 2 year, and 5 year. The 24 to 48 hour cure time applies.

Do you service turboprops based at outdoor tie-downs?

Yes. For coating and polish work we prefer indoor conditions, and we can arrange temporary hangar space at some of our covered airports for the service window. For dry wash and interior work, outdoor service is fine in reasonable weather.
